Tony Zhao -1970 was born in Sichuan province in China, graduated from Sichuan Institute of Fine Arts in 1997.a professor in the College of Fine Arts of Chongqing University. He is the one of the top artists in the new fourth-generation in Chinese anti-guard art circle. However, he had very little influence from the circle, although his intuitive sense that a somewhat deformed figuration could stimulate emotional as well as intellectual reaction. In his portrait paintings the artist captures the superficial spiritual tints of living flesh and provides an infinitely fascinating source of inspiration. He has never ignored the “likeness aspect of the subject or handle it in the way as you would any other –a still life but reveal a lot the inner most and the character of the people. All of his portraits are painted from photograhs, this is because he lives in China.

• 1999- one of his works was attended to the Art Exhibition at Macao and won a prize.
• 2002- one of his works was attended to Northwest Art Exhibition at Chinese National Art Gallery.
• 2003- two of his works were attended the 10th Chinese National Art Exhibition and won a prize.
